Gov. Sheriff Oborevwori
Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has expressed dissatisfaction with the contractor handling the reconstruction of the Warri City stadium. He recently had his say during an inspection tour of the facility on Tuesday, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Noting that the initial agreement was for completion by December, he reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to quality delivery and strict adherence to contractual agreements in the ongoing stadium reconstruction project.
Describing the cladding as substandard and temporary, the Governor said that he doesn’t understand why work has not yet begun in April despite the deal with the contractor for a December finish.
His words, “I wasn’t smiling because we have an agreement with the contractor. The agreement is for the contractor to finish in December, and now we are in April.
We have paid for quality, not something that will fade in a few years. This cladding you are seeing is temporary; it will be removed.
Only durable materials that can stand the test of time would be accepted.
If he fails us again, we will expose him.”
WOW.
