“Equip Students For Global Challenges” – Gov. Aiyedatiwa To Universities

Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has said that Nigeria’s future economic and technological advancement would depend largely on the strength of its educational institutions. He recently had his say at the foundation day lecture he delivered at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, the state capital.

Stating that the quality of leadership also has a role to play, the Governor charged universities across the country to train and equip their students to enable them to have the capacity to face the emerging global challenges.

He added that the roles of the higher institutions of learning are not only for certification but to shape individuals who will influence societal direction.

His words, “Leadership remains fundamental to organisational success, and it involves influencing and motivating people towards achieving collective goals rather than exercising authority through coercion.

Leadership is a continuous process based on interaction between leaders and followers, and its effectiveness depends on the ability to adapt to changing realities.

Leadership remains one of the most important determinants of organisational success. The true measure of leadership is not only what we achieve today, but the future we prepare others to build. Technology may change the tools we use, but leadership will always determine the direction in which society moves.”
