USMNT defender Chris Richards has said that he and his teammates are stunned after Folarin Balogun’s red card suspension. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Stressing that everyone is excited about the decision, Richards stated that it is very good news against a very strong Belgium side.
Chris added that Balogun is delighted to be given the opportunity to keep playing for his country.
His words, “We were lit on the bus, regardless. We had our speaker in the back, so we just listened to music, and then one person said something, another person said another thing, and nobody wanted to confirm it. Right when we got here, we found out it was true.
I don’t know when Balo found out. If he knew before us, he kept it quiet, but I think a lot of us thought it was AI at first. I think we’re really excited. We found out through social media, which was cool. There’s a lot of question marks, but we’re just very happy and excited overall.
Knowing that we’re playing against a really strong Belgium side and knowing that we do have our starting striker back, it’s very exciting, and it gives us maybe a little extra boost.
Balogun is keeping it cool right now. I think he was still nervous about if it was true or not, but I think he’s very excited.”
