Spain midfielder Rodri has issued a formal apology to his former Manchester City team-mate Bernardo Silva. This comes following a heated on-field altercation at the end of their World Cup knockout match.
Admitting his mistake, the Ballon d’Or winner revealed that he should not have celebrated the missed goal-scoring opportunity by Bernardo Silva just before the final whistle.
Rodri added that he already apologized to his former teammate for jubilating when he failed.
His words, “I’ve said this before, I made a mistake because I celebrated when he had failed. I apologised to him immediately, but that’s where it stands because of the trust we have, and that’s it.”
