Hollywood actor Tom Holland has said that Manchester City striker Erling Haaland ignored his DM asking if he’d like to hang out. He recently had his say while speaking to Jimmy Fallon, and fans have been reacting.
Revealing that he messaged Haaland after seeing him at the Formula 1 Monaco Grand Prix in June, Tom disclosed that it was humbling to see his DM completely ignored.
The moviestar concluded by joking that the forward will not be interested in any dinner after England kicked Norway out of the World Cup.
His words, “Yes. Yes, and I tell you what, that is, that is exactly the type of humbling experience that is important for actors. You know, you’ll be like, ‘I’ll text him, I’ll take him to dinner,’ not even a response, not an excuse, not ‘I’m busy tonight, I’m playing football,’ nada.
I was watching Lewis [Hamilton] race, and I saw him. He was [in] like a hospitality suite across from me, and I just thought I’d shoot my shot. Send him a text.
I never imagined I would talk about it on live television, but here we are.
I don’t think he would have dinner with me after England beat Norway.”
Erling Braut Haaland is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a striker for Premier League club Manchester City and the Norway national team. Considered one of the best players in the world, he is known for his speed, strength, positioning, and finishing inside the box. Haaland holds the record for the most goals scored by a player in a single Premier League season, with 36.
Haaland was born on 21 July 2000 in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, as his father Alfie Haaland was playing for Leeds United in the Premier League at the time. In 2004, at the age of three, he moved to Bryne, his parents’ hometown in Norway.
Along with playing football from an early age, Haaland took part in various other sports as a child, including handball, golf, and track and field. He also reportedly achieved a world record in his age category for the standing long jump when he was five, with a recorded distance of 1.63 metres in 2006.
