Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has shared how he hijacked Manchester City and Arsenal’s moves for Sandro Tonali. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Stressing that he basically told his fellow countryman the truth, De Zerbi revealed that Tonali knows he is the perfect pillar to support a complete reconstruction of the North London club’s identity.
The Italian added that Sandro is the leader Spurs needs ahead of its rebuilding season.
His words, “If I really did convince him, then I can only be happy about that. I told him the truth, because I always tell players what I really think. I was already watching Tonali when he was playing for Brescia, my hometown club and the team I support. At the age of 18, he already looked like a veteran. I think this is something that I and Tottenham can offer him more than other clubs.
