Nollywood actress Kate Henshaw has paid tribute to the late veteran actor Olu Jacobs. She recently had her say via her social media page, and fans have been reacting.
Celebrating Olu Jacobs’ life, remarkable talent and lasting legacy, Henshaw described the deceased as the greatest Nigerian actor of all time.
Kate concluded by reflecting on the privilege of learning from the Nollywood icon and sharing cherished moments with his family.
Her words, “I celebrate the life you lived, your gift which you shared with the world. My G.O.A.T. Your legacy is cast in our hearts, not just in stone… You held your own across borders.
I am so glad I have cherished moments with you to remember. I learnt at your feet and became a little part of your amazing family. Aunty J mi toh quality, Soji & Gbenga with the rest of the family, be comforted. God has him.”
Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, known professionally as Olu Jacobs, was a veteran Nigerian actor and film executive.
He began his career starring in several British television series and international films. Trained at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, England, Olu Jacobs worked with various repertoire theatres in Britain and starred in some international movies.
Jacobs was married to fellow Nollywood actor Joke Silva since 1989. They have two children.
Olu Jacobs was honoured with the Industry Merit Award for outstanding achievements in acting at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
