Ghollywood actor Van Vicker has paid tribute to the late Olu Jacobs. He recently had his say via his social media page, and fans have been reacting.
Sharing a throwback picture from a Nollywood film they starred in together back in 2005/06, Van Vicker revealed that it was his first project in Nigeria, and the veteran actor gave him key tips that helped him thrive in Nollywood.
The moviestar concluded by describing his first professional experience in Nigeria as one shaped directly by Olu Jacobs’ guidance.
His words, “The veteran has bowed out. OMG! My very first job in Nigeria in 2005/06 was with Olu Jacobs. He gave me a few tips. Amazing actor. RIP my legend.”
Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, known professionally as Olu Jacobs, was a veteran Nigerian actor and film executive.
He began his career starring in several British television series and international films. Trained at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts, England, Olu Jacobs worked with various repertoire theatres in Britain and starred in some international movies.
Jacobs was married to fellow Nollywood actor Joke Silva since 1989. They have two children.
Olu Jacobs was honoured with the Industry Merit Award for outstanding achievements in acting at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
