Nyesom Wike Shutdown illegal schools in River State

 

 

 

In Rivers state, the Government has closed down schools that has been operating  without government approval in the state. More than 1000 schools are under lock and key by the Governor.

Gov. Wike made it clear in Port Harcourt that schools who were shutdown have failed to meet up with the standard of the ministry of education and, parents and guardian that are affected should relocate their wards to other schools before the resumption of the next academic session.

Education is one of the sector the state government is thriving to maintain its standards. The Governor condemned Exam malpractice linked with illegal operating schools as West Africa Examination Council, (WAEC), centers in some parts of the  state. He Fated the action of a school who established in the state to the honor of the students who died in 2005 in the sosoliso plane crash.
