The Federal Government on Tuesday indicated that it was working round the clock to come up with a policy that would monitor, regulate and control the number of children a woman can give birth to.
It went ahead to make it known that it has launched a massive consultation of religious and traditional rulers on this issue, adding that this gesture has become necessary in solving one of the “great challenges” in the Economic Recovery and Growth Plan of the Federal Government.
The Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, who disclosed this while responding to questions during a session at the 24th Nigerian Economic Summit in Abuja, noted that the country’s population had been identified as one of the great challenges confronting the successful implementation of the ERGP.
