Nigerian entertainer Oluwafemi Oladapo, popularly known as Slimcase, has revealed that he is stepping away from music to pursue acting full-time.

Speaking with Sunday Scoop, the “Shaku Shaku” hitmaker explained that he no longer feels the same energy or acceptance in the music industry, noting that Nollywood has embraced him more warmly.

“I love acting in movies, and funny enough, most of my colleagues in the music industry are busy with their own things, so I can’t be looking for any artiste. But the movie industry welcomed me, so I thought that since many artistes are too busy promoting their work, I would move to the movie industry. Now, I really want to be an actor. I’m done with this music thing; I don tire,” he said.

Slimcase revealed that his recent releases were intentionally crafted to prepare fans for his transition. Many of his latest projects feature Nollywood stars such as Iyabo Ojo, Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo and Tobi Bakre, which he said was his way of blending into the movie ecosystem.

Discussing his latest track, Ko Scary Mo, Slimcase said the song reflects his growing interest in filmmaking.
“Ko Scary Mo is my new jam, and it talks about the movie industry and how people need more movie storylines. Nothing is new to Gen Zs anymore, so we need something exceptional in our movie industry. That is what the intro talks about, while the rest of the song is all about good vibes,” he explained.

He also commented on Nigeria’s rising insecurity, stressing that stronger action from authorities could drastically reduce the crisis.
“I believe the government as a whole can find solutions to this problem. All the terrorists and bandits are not even a quarter of the Nigerian army, so if we are ready, we can do it,” he stated.

Slimcase added that many attacks occur in areas with easy escape routes, arguing that such incidents would be far more difficult to execute in Lagos.
“And these people cannot come to Lagos because there is traffic everywhere. Where do they want to run to? They are poor people brainwashed against the poor. What is the purpose of the fight? Because even those carrying guns are helpless. Nobody wants to grow up to kill people. Why are they attacking the helpless and not the rich? It means somebody must be behind this. In Lagos, they won’t move an inch with the traffic. How do they want to move kidnapped people in traffic compared to where the road is free with bushes?” he added.
