Idris Elba
Popular actor Idris Elba has said that he has major respect for his “Hijack” character’s ability to stay calm under pressure. He recently had his say during an interview with PEOPLE about season 2 of his hit Apple TV thriller, and fans have been reacting.
According to him, if he were faced with a real-life hijacking situation, he would try to connect with his captors on a personal level, rather than attempt to double-cross anyone.
Idris added that despite initially having some doubts about whether the magic of “Hijack” season 1 could be recreated, he gave in eventually.
His words, “I’d handle it worse probably. I’d handle it worse. I’m not sure I’d think on the way he does.
I would try and appeal to the human beings involved and try and say, ‘Hey, man, it doesn’t have to be like this.’ Where he’s a lot more like, ‘Okay, I’ll figure this out. I’ll double cross you all somehow.’
I tend to be calm and not a panicker, but definitely probably not as good as a negotiator as him [Sam Nelson].
It’s a complex show to make. It was really good and people really loved it. And can we do it again? I wasn’t sure.
As much as I loved the character, sometimes you’ve just got to move on, but I was really sort of compelled to see how we could do it and see if we can do it again, do it well, keep what the audience loved of the first season alive.”
WOW.
The cinema of the United States, consisting mainly of major film studios (also known metonymously as Hollywood) along with some independent films, has had a large effect on the global film industry since the early 20th century.
The dominant style of American cinema is classical Hollywood cinema, which developed from 1910 to 1962 and is still typical of most films made there to this day.
Hollywood is considered to be the oldest film industry, in the sense of being the place where the earliest film studios and production companies emerged. It is the birthplace of various genres of cinema —among them comedy, drama, action, the musical, romance, horror, science fiction, and the epic—and has set the example for other national film industries.
Many of Hollywood’s highest-grossing movies have generated more box-office revenue and ticket sales outside the United States than films made elsewhere. The United States is a leading pioneer in motion picture engineering and technology.
