Patrick Doyle
Veteran Nollywood actor Patrick Doyle has spoken out about losing his newborn child. He recently opened up about grief and faith in a viral video, and fans have been reacting.
Sharing that he has experienced deep pain from losing a wife, a son and a newborn child, Patrick revealed that he definitely knows the pain of losing a loved one.
The moviestar added that despite the emotional distress he has had to face during his lifetime, he is still standing.
His words, “There are moments in life when words feel too small for the weight we carry, when grief is not an event, but a companion, familiar, unwelcome, yet ever-present.
I stand before you not as one who has read about sorrow, but as one who has walked in it.
I have known the pain of losing a beloved wife, the heartbreak of burying a son, and now the fresh wound of laying to rest a child born only a few days ago.
And yet, in the midst of all this, I can say with conviction, I am still standing, not because I’m strong in myself, but because I am held by a strength greater than my own.
The scriptures say, we are troubled on every side, yet not distressed. We are perplexed, but not in despair. That is not poetry to me. It is reality.
There have been questions without answers, nights without sleep, and tears that words cannot explain.
But never, not once, have I been abandoned, because my hope is not anchored in circumstances. It is anchored in Christ. Jesus himself was described as a man acquainted with grief.
He understands loss. He understands pain. And more importantly, he enters into it with us. The comfort I have known is not theoretical.
It is the work of the Holy Spirit, the comforter who comes alongside in the darkest hours and whispers peace when everything else is breaking down.
And so I hold fast to the truth declared in the book of Romans chapter 8, nothing, neither death nor life, nor things present, nor things to come, can separate me from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus.
Not loss, certainly not sorrow, not even death itself. This is the hope I stand on, but let me say this plainly. This kind of hope is not automatic. It is found in a relationship with Jesus.
To those who hear me today and have not committed their lives to him, I urge you, consider this carefully. Life is fragile. It does not ask our permission before it changes.
There will come moments when strength, success, and even loved ones cannot carry us through. In those moments, only Christ will remain.”
WOW.
