The candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the forthcoming Osun State Governorship election, Bola Oyebamiji, has said that intimidation of voters will not be allowed during the poll. He recently had his say during the campaign tour of Ifelodun/Boripe/Odo Otin Federal Constituency, while addressing party supporters in Okuku, Osun State.
Urging the electorate to collect their Permanent Voter’s Card in the ongoing distribution exercise, Oyebamiji rejected claims purporting that the poll may be marred by violence.
He concluded by vowing not to discriminate against any parts of the state if elected.
His words, “I am urging you to keep your PVC safe, those that just registered, please go and get it on time. Liaise with our party officials at LG level to get your PVC easily. Once you get it, don’t sell it, it is your power and licence to take part on the August 15 election.
I am assuring you that no one can intimidate or harass you not to participate in the poll. Any thug or hoodlum caught harassing people will be severely dealt with by security operatives.
For the rural areas, our focus is to use agriculture to develop your economy and provide basic infrastructure that will encourage farmers and reduce hunger among the populace of the state.
Don’t be distracted by the rumour that the election will be violent. The government in place now is due. A new era of development will be ushered in. I will ensure that health, education and commerce get necessary attention.”
