Former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel has urged Manchester United to sign Unai Emery as manager. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Urging MUFC to hand the Spanish manager the keys at Old Trafford, Mikel stated that he’d prefer Emery over Eddie Howe and Julian Nagelsmann because he has what it takes to rectify the club’s problems on the pitch.
Obi added that if the owners can hand Unai an open chequebook to turn MUFC’s fortunes around, he’ll get the job done.
His words, “Neither. I would go for Unai Emery. I don’t think he leaves [Aston Villa] but listen, if you give him the f***ing keys.
If you give him an open chequebook and say: ‘Listen, Unai, we don’t want to go down this route anymore, we’re tired, the fans are sick and tired of what’s happening at the football club. We want to press the reset button and believe you are the man.'”
