Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has called on his players to move on from the pain of their shock Carabao Cup exit. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Urging his team to turn their focus toward the massive EPL showdown against Liverpool at Anfield, Arteta stated that Arsenal must move past this setback quickly to maintain their momentum at the top of the table.
Refusing to blame his squad’s effort levels, the Spaniard added that their determination and attitude is still very evident.
His words, “We need to take it now on the chin. We are out of the competition, we’re very sad for all the people as well here who came to watch the game – I wanted to give them the victory. Now we need to recover, and get ready for Anfield.
They are always with us. That’s unquestionable, after the game they showed their appreciation to the team, and we’ll try to make them very happy against Liverpool.
Obviously, a really sad day for us. There’s nothing to criticise the players for in terms of their attitude, their application, their determination to go and play the game that we had to play, but obviously we conceded that really poor goal to start with and gave them some belief.”
