I Believe In A Nigeria Of Justice, Equity And Fairness – Gov. Udom Emmanuel

Akwa Ibom State Government has come out to say that it will not join the current call for secession in Nigeria.

Governor Udom Emmanuel recently revealed this when he received course participants of the Strategic Management and Policy Studies Course 3 of 2020 from the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Abuja, at Government House, Uyo.

According to him, his state’s resolve to remain solidly behind Nigeria’s quest to remain united for growth and progress of the nation and its citizens.

He, however, added that even if Akwa Ibom will not join in the quest for secession, the state strongly believes in a Nigeria that is founded upon the strong principles of justice, equity and fairness.

Udom Gabriel Emmanuel (born 11 July 1966) is the governor of Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria, in office since 29 May 2015. He contested for the office of governor in the April 2015 elections on the platform of People’s Democratic Party. He was re-elected as the governor of Akwa Ibom State on 29 May 2019.

Udom Gabriel Emmanuel was born on July 11, 1966, into the family of Ette Teacher Gabriel Emmanuel Nkenang, a native of Awa Iman in Onna Local Government, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria. He rose from being a Sunday school leader at United Evangelical Church (QIC) (formerly Qua Iboe Church) to become a bank director. Emmanuel and his family are strong members of United Evangelical Church (QIC), Nigeria.

Emmanuel served as an audit manager of Price Waterhouse Coopers. He is an associate of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. He served as chief financial officer of Zenith Bank Plc.
