France manager Zinedine Zidane has openly discussed his infamous clash with Marco Materazzi during the 2006 World Cup final. He recently had his say while speaking to the press, and fans have been reacting.
Insisting he holds no regrets over the incident, Zidane stated that he has not spoken a word to Materazzi since that day.
Zinedine added that he prefers to remember the positive moments he enjoyed as a footballer.
His words, “I haven’t spoken to Materazzi since that day. I’m not proud of what I did, I’ve always said that, but at the same time I have no regrets. It is part of my career. Fortunately, that is not all that I did in my career. There are positive and enjoyable moments, and I prefer to remember those. You can’t just have a career of all great moments.”
