Nollywood actress, Lilian Afebgbai has come out to recount the unpleasant electricity-related experience she had in South Africa.

She recently revealed that it was very shocking to learn that South Africa occasionally experiences power outages like Nigeria, and fans have been reacting.

According to her, she actually went to a theater to see a movie only for the power to go out when she least expected during the film, and the reality made her laugh.

Lilian added that everything stops working in South Africa as soon as load shedding begins, while network in Nigeria continues to function even if PHCN shuts off the light.

The term continues to be used in the media to refer to the Nigerian film industry, with its definition later assumed to be a portmanteau of the words “Nigeria” and “Hollywood”, the American major film hub.

Film-making in Nigeria is divided largely along regional, and marginally ethnic and religious lines. Thus, there are distinct film industries – each seeking to portray the concern of the particular section and ethnicity it represents. However, there is the English-language film industry which is a melting pot for filmmaking and filmmakers from most of the regional industries.
