NIRP Must Improve Dignity Of Labour In Nigeria – NLC

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called for the strict implementation of the National Industrial Relations Policy (NIRP). The group’s president, Mr Joe Ajaero, recently had his say at the inauguration of the National Industrial Relations Policy (NIRP) in Abuja.

Urging stakeholders to ensure that the policy delivers tangible benefits to workers, Ajaero insisted that it must not remain a document that serves no purpose.

Joe added that NIRP must serve as a practical framework to improve workers’ welfare, strengthen industrial peace and promote decent work.

His words, “This policy must not end as a document, but translate into real improvement in workers’ welfare and industrial peace.

We expect it to move from paper to practice, improving conditions of work and dignity of labour.

The true value of this policy will be measured not by its launch, but by its impact on workers’ lives and workplaces.”
