Ex-governor of Borno State and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ali Modu Sheriff, has dismissed the chances of Peter Obi winning the 2027 presidential election. He recently had his say during Channels Television’s Politics Today, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Insisting that the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate would fail to secure the backing of Northern voters, Ali Modu expressed confidence that the APC would remain in power after the next general election.
He concluded by saying that the presidency should stay in the South until 2031.
His words, “I am not worried about Peter Obi because I know Northerners will never vote for him.
The situation is different now. When Peter Obi was governor, he chased Northerners out of Anambra State.
This is what people in Kano are telling Kwankwaso now. They say they have always supported him and will continue to do so if he contests for president, but they will not support him if he aligns with Peter Obi.”
