Nollywood actress, Lizzy Anjorin has come out to react to reports claiming she was accused of stealing gold and using fake bank alert at Eko market.

She recently had her say via her social media page, and fans have been reacting.

According to her, what happened was that she had gone to the market sometime in November 2023 to purchase some fashion accessories, and she asked her husband to help her send N91,000 to the seller, only to visit the market yesterday and be accused by the seller of purchasing goods with a fake bank alert.

Liz added that efforts to clear her name proved abortive as the man and the other traders were hellbent on calling her a thief.

The term continues to be used in the media to refer to the Nigerian film industry, with its definition later assumed to be a portmanteau of the words “Nigeria” and “Hollywood”, the American major film hub.

Film-making in Nigeria is divided largely along regional, and marginally ethnic and religious lines. Thus, there are distinct film industries – each seeking to portray the concern of the particular section and ethnicity it represents. However, there is the English-language film industry which is a melting pot for filmmaking and filmmakers from most of the regional industries.
