We Never Had To Beg Reverend Father Emmanuel Amiji Ujoh For A Funeral Date – Chimamanda Adichie

Popular writer, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie has come out to praise a Catholic Priest in Cross River State for his actions during a funeral mass she attended.

She recently revealed that she was at Stella Maris Catholic Church, Itigbi, Cross River State for the burial of her brother-in-law, Andrew Elemi Esege who was fiercely loved by many.

According to her, she has nothing but praise for Reverend Father Emmanuel Amiji Ujoh because of the warmth and emotional intelligence he displayed during and after the requiem Mass, and his actions definitely felt Christian.

Chimamanda added that he never had an ego, and family members of the deceased never had to beg for a funeral date.

Her words, “There was no begging for a funeral date, no polishing of a priest’s inflated ego. No entitled demands for money and food. No suggestion from the priest that he is doing you a favour by burying your dead.”
