The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Board of Trustees, BoT has vowed to support the party’s national reconciliation and strategy committee led by Senator Bukola Saraki.

He recently gave the pledge in a chat with newsmen shortly after a meeting of the board and the committee in Abuja.

According to him, the Board of Trustees will do everything possible to ensure Saraki’s committee finds it easy to unify and reposition the party ahead of the 2023 general elections.

He added that Saraki and co should not fear anyone or anything in their quest to carry out their assignment successfully.

His words, “We have given them 100 per cent support to carry out this assignment. They are fearless. They should not fear anybody, and no issue of money should be involved in this exercise.”

“We trust Saraki. We know he is the kind of person that cannot be bought by anybody. So we will fully support him and will continue to give him our support 100 per cent.”

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is a major contemporary political party in Nigeria. Its policies generally lie towards the centre-right of the political spectrum. It won every Presidential election between 1999 and 2011, and was until the 2015 elections, the governing party in the Fourth Republic although in some cases, amid a few controversial electoral circumstances. They won the presidential election and were inaugurated 29 May, 1999.

The longtime slogan of the People’s Democratic Party has been “Power to the people”. During the party’s National Convention in Port Harcourt, Rivers State on 21 May 2016, David Mark, a former President of the Senate of Nigeria, introduced “Change the change” as the party’s campaign slogan for the 2019 general elections.
