The Kano State government has come out to refute reports of plans to ban women from driving cars in the state.

The State Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba recently had his say during an interview, and Nigerians have been reacting.

According to him, the government has never contemplated on the matter, so Nigerians should ignore reports saying such.

He added that the reports lack any credibility whatsoever, which explains why it is solely attributed to a source that cannot be substantiated.

His words, β€œThe trending story lacks any credibility and that is why it is wholly attributed to a source that cannot be substantiated.”

β€œIt was interesting that some of the scholars quoted to have backed the alleged ban have already dissociated themselves from the report.”
