Whatever Affects Akwa Ibom Automatically Affects Rivers State – Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike has come out to mourn with the governor of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Udom Emmanuel over the recent loss of prominent indigenes of the state.

He recently had his say during his condolence visit to Governor Emmanuel at Hilltop Mansion, Government House Uyo.

According to him, what touches Akwa Ibom touches Rivers state, and the deaths are not just a grave loss to Akwa Ibom State, but also to the entire South-South region.

He added that the recent demises are very painful, and God will give their families the fortitude to bear the loss.

His words, “What I came here is that the Governor Udom has lost two-three prominent sons of Akwa Ibom State, the most painful is the former two times Director-General of his campaign organisation and the Chairman of PANDEF and then his party Chairman which is also my party and the hope for this country is PDP, I said no what affects him, affects me, what touches Akwa Ibom touches Rivers state.”

Ezenwo Nyesom Wike CON (born 13 December 1963), also known variously as Ezebunwo Nyesom Wike, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Nyesom Ezebunwo Wike or Nyesom Wike is a Nigerian politician and lawyer who is the sixth and current Governor of Rivers State.

He is an Ikwerre from Rumuepirikom in Obio-Akpor, Rivers State. He is a member of the People’s Democratic Party and was educated at Rivers State University of Science and Technology.

Wike defeated Dakuku Peterside of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Tonye Princewill of the Labour Party in the April 11 gubernatorial elections to emerge as governor.

During his second term as a governor, he kicked-off the construction of three major flyovers simultaneously in Port Harcourt. The location of the flyovers are at Garrison, Rumoukoro and Artillery.
