Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has hailed Davido for drawing global attention to Nigeria’s security challenges during the ongoing World Cup tournament. He recently had his say via his Facebook page, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Reflecting on Nigeria’s absence from the FIFA World Cup, Obi noted that the nation’s failure to qualify is not due to a lack of talent but because of insufficient structures and leadership needed to develop sporting and youth potential.
Hailing the presence of Nigerian performers at the global tournament, the former Governor stressed the need for political leaders to create an enabling environment that allows young Nigerians to thrive in sports and other fields.
