There’s currently confusion and panic in Karu and Nyanya areas of Abuja after reportsthat suspected Boko Haram members hijacked a schoolbus this morningand kidnapped school children went viral. I hear anxious parents have even withdrawn their wards from schools there because of the scare.
Thestories initiallyhad it that two schools were invaded – Ave Maria Girls Secondary School and Vine International Academy buthere is the true story – Ave Maria was not involved. The school
proprietor of Ave Maria confirmed on phone that their school wasn’t involved. But at Vine International Academy in Nyanya, their school bus was taken this morning by gunmen.
Vine International school’s proprietress confirmed the gunmen tried to enter her school but eventuallycouldn’t. And NOchild was taken away by them. Just their school bus.
