President Buhari has through a letter sent to the National Assembly revealed why he rejected the Peace Corp establishment bill.
The letter from the president was read by the speaker of House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara, on Tuesday, February 27.
President Buhari cited security concerns and financial burden of funding the organization by the government as his reasons for rejection of the bill
The national assembly had passed the bill in 2015, after a prolonged battle involving the organization and the nation’s security agencies..
