The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has blasted the Federal Government over its alleged silence since the controversial remarks attributed to Islamic cleric Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir. He recently had his say in a video posted on social media, and Nigerians have been reacting.
Stressing that Jingir should be arrested over the remarks, the cleric warned that failure to caution religious leaders against inflammatory statements could threaten peaceful coexistence in the country.
Ayodele concluded by alleging that the government would have responded differently if a Christian religious leader made a similar statement.
His words, “If the government does not caution this, then Christianity is in trouble in Nigeria.
This senseless old fool, Islamic cleric Jingir, should be in jail by now.
If a Christian had made such a statement, they would have picked him up immediately.”
