The Lagos State government has vowed to intensify enforcement against individuals harassing motorists and stopping luxury vehicles along the Lekki-Epe Expressway. Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat recently had his say while speaking in a broadcast on Nigeria Info FM, and Nigerians have been reacting.
According to him, the state administration will take decisive, ongoing action to clear the major transit corridor of unauthorized individuals targeting high-end cars and compromising public safety.
Describing the disruptive actions as strictly criminal, Hamzat added that the government would no longer tolerate extortion or harassment on state roads.
His words, “That is criminal, and therefore, we will not allow it. So, we will take a lot of them off the street. A lot of people have been arrested, really. A lot of cameras are also on that road and people have been seen… some people are in the Magistrate Court today.”
