I’ll Advice Tinubu To Refrain From Contesting In 2027 – Ezeh Emmanuel

A Labour Party chieftain and the 2023 House of Representatives candidate for the Abakaliki/Izzi Federal Constituency, Dr Ezeh Emmanuel, has come out to say that Nigerians would forgive President Bola Tinubu if he forgets about contesting in 2027.

He recently revealed that avoiding re-election in 2027 would be the honourable thing for BAT to do.

According to him, Tinubu should focus on guaranteeing a credible electoral system that will deliver leaders who can lead the nation with character and capacity.

He added that the era of terrible leaders recontesting just because they believe they can has to stop, because such an ego trip would be absolutely futile in 2027.

His words, “My straightforward recommendation to Tinubu is to consider refraining from contesting the 2027 elections.

Let him toe the Nelson Mandela’s path of honour. Let him instead build a credible electoral system that can enthrone leaders who are competent, that have character and capacity.

Nigeria cannot continue on this endless ego trip that no matter how terrible a leader is, he must complete and attempt a further term. Nigeria requires a new beginning and a Peter Obi presidency will deliver that new Nigeria that is possible.

If Tinubu, against all odds adheres to this advice, Nigerians will forgive him all the mess and pains he caused. The political tension in the country will drop; the wreck of all institutions of state will stop and most importantly, genuine hope will be re-ignited once again.”
