Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has commended the Nigerian Army for its efforts in tackling pipeline vandalism and illegal oil bunkering. He recently had his say while receiving the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen. Waidi Shaibu, who paid him a courtesy visit in Port Harcourt.

Admitting that the operations are producing positive results, Fubara said that the military’s fight against crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism has contributed to increased crude oil production and improved national revenue.

He added that the activities of the 6th Division have boosted the security of lives and property in the state.

His words, “I can conveniently say that within the short period you have been appointed, there are a lot of positive things that our state has recorded in terms of security.

I wish that your tenure would record more positive improvements for the Nigerian Army.

This speaks to two things: that Rivers State is peaceful and Rivers State is worth securing.

We owe you our support, and we will continue to do whatever is necessary to ensure you succeed in your assignment.”
