Sam Nda-Isaiah Was Very Committed To Public Good – GEJ

Ex-President, Goodluck Jonathan has come out to mourn the death of Mr Sam Nda-Isaiah, Leadership Newspapers founder and chairman.

He recently had his say via a statement in Abuja, and Nigerians have bee reacting.

According to him, Nda-Isaiah was a brilliant journalist and columnist who deployed his creativity towards promoting peace, progress and unity.

He added that the deceased was very committed to public good, and he would surely be missed.

His words, “I commiserate with the Nda-Isaiah family, the Nigerian media, his political associates and all sympathisers on the demise of Nda- Isaiah at the age of 58 after a brief illness.

“Nda-Isaiah was a pharmacist, an erudite journalist, a columnist and a newspaper publisher, who deployed his creativity and platforms to promote peace, progress and unity of Nigeria.

“He was a man of deep commitment to solving many of the Country’s challenges.

“Nda-Isaiah will be missed by many for his incisive commentary on the state of our nation and for his patriotism.”


Goodluck Ebele Azikiwe Jonathan GCFR, GCON (born 20 November 1957) is a Nigerian politician who served as the President of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015.

He lost the 2015 presidential election to former military head of state General Muhammadu Buhari, marking the first time in the history of Nigeria that an incumbent president lost re-election and conceded defeat.

Prior to that, he served as Vice President of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010; and in oil-rich Bayelsa State as Governor of Bayelsa State from 2005 to 2007.

Jonathan was born on 20 November 1957 in Ogbia to a Christian family of canoe makers, from the Ijaw minority ethnic group. He received a bachelor degree in zoology (second-class honours), a masters degree in hydrobiology and fisheries biology; and a doctorate in zoology from the University of Port Harcourt.
