Popular Afrobeat artist Made Kuti has opened up about why he did not kneel when he proposed to his wife, Inedoye Onyeso. Recall that the singer proposed in 2022 and the couple got married in 2023.

Explaining that his proposal was based on mutual understanding rather than tradition, Made revealed that there was no need to kneel since they were not begging each other for marriage.

He added that Inedoye’s strong values convinced him that she was the right partner to settle down with.

His words, “And I did not go down on one knee. Because I told her that this is a mutual decision. We are not begging each other to be with each other.

She had a sense, but she was not sure (it was coming).

I made some money from some shows. I did some stuff, booked a flight for both of us to Paris. Then, we spent a week there. Then I booked a table for a three course meal.

It almost did not happen that day because the starters that they brought were disgusting. Both of us were complaining. So I said I could not propose under those conditions. So, when the main came, it was very nice.
